2026 Campaign – Week 1 Update
October 4, 2026
Campaign Update!
As week 1 of the campaign comes to a close and week 2 is about to begin, I wanted to provide an update.
I had a great day canvassing door-to-door on Saturday, and I really enjoyed the conversations and hearing whatโs important to people in Cornwall.
One theme that came through loud and clear was economic development. People want more commercial options in our town, and if Iโm fortunate enough to be re-elected, I intend to make this a priority
.
Iโve had several people request lawn signs, so weโre keeping a list!
They should be ready tomorrow, so if youโd like one for your yard, just reach out and weโll get one to you.
I also have a few more 4×4 signs going up, so keep an eye out for those!

I genuinely love going door-to-door and meeting people. Itโs one of my favourite parts of campaigning.

That said, Cornwallโs open-ward system is a very difficult one to operate in because it means every candidate is essentially campaigning across the entire town โ nearly 4,000 doors!

A quick FYI on our Open Ward system: Unlike most municipalities in PEI, Cornwall isnโt divided into smaller wards or districts. In fact, our municipal boundaries are almost the same size as provincial District 16. That makes covering the entire town a significant undertaking, particularly when many municipal candidates are also working full-time jobs throughout the week.
After five municipal elections as a candidate, its clear that we’re all very busy!
On Saturday, I tracked my contacts and found that only about 28% of people were actually home. That number has been pretty consistent during past election periods, regardless of the day or time.
So while Iโll continue knocking on doors myself, getting to every door before the first advance poll is a challenge.
There are only 17 canvassing days until the first advance poll, on Saturday, October 24th, from 9 a.m.โ7 p.m. at the APM Centre

If youโd like to volunteer โ even for an hour or two
โ your support would be greatly appreciated!
We’re hoping to organize a few campaign blitzes
in different neighbourhoods over the next couple of weeks, all in an effort to get campaign material to as many homes as possible before the polls open!
Of course, Iโll continue knocking on doors myself and will work with volunteers so we can maximize our time reaching people who are home.
At the same time, if you would like me to stop by your place, please contact me, and we can arrange a good time to visit
If youโd like to help out, please send me a message and Iโll get you all the deets!
And finally, thank you to everyone who took the time to chat with me this week and offer their support.
Your encouragement, support, and willingness to share your thoughts mean a lot to me and my family!
Together for Cornwall!
